Julie and Midnight's adventures Jan %th 2018

Hello again everyone
Welcome to our blog and we hope it is useful for you.

So yesterday began with Midnight had to go for his first vet visit. He had his first round of shots at home but it was time for the next round and his tags.
Julie and I would like to thank all the staff at Arab vet hospital and our beautiful daughter inlaw Candace Ely....
Midnight wasn't to happy about being up so early and now  we were going in a new place without mom....that is until he heard and saw Candace....then he was a happy camper.
He got all his shots ....paws and claws....and a bath.
Later that day Julie wanted to get out and about......so out we went..
Again I am so impressed with  both of them and how what great ambassadors for service k9s and their handlers.
So enjoy these pics and drop us a ;line and tell us what you think

Special thank you goes out to the ladies in Fieldsmen Jewelers in the Huntsville mall
We loved telling you about our little Midnight!

Julie and midnight

Hello again everyone

  Today's date is 12/22/2017

My beautiful wife Julie was feeling very good today so...
It is a great day to take Midnight out
Off to Park Place Mall in Huntsville,Al
Let me tell you this pup is just awesome. Any and everything or situation
we place this little guy in he shines bright.
Below you will find pictures of  him out making friends .
I have to tell you 99 out of 100 people know he is working as a service k9..
He is quite the ambassador spreading good will and love to everyone.
These outings are also great for Julie and as you will see she really enjoys teaching the little ones
how to properly approach a k9 and how to not flinch or run.
I wish the pictures could explain just how proud I am of both of them.
Hey do me a favor...if you are reading this leave us a comment and some words of encouragement for both of them please
Jeff

Socializing

Hello again friends

You know we seem to get the best training in when it is not a planed event to take place at a certain time.
That is especially true when training with Midnight.
So after dinner was done and the sun was down it was time to get out of the house for a bit...it is all ways good to get my lovely bride up and out and about.
This would be a new time of day to take Midnight out and do some more work.

It is great to see and hear the real people out in this world, explain to their children that he is a service animal and not to touch or bother him.
This is really a great thing to hear the public is getting used to working k9s being around them.
How ever Midnight is Socializing  so interacting with people is a very good thing for him right now.
This would be his 4th trip to Walmart and he is really getting comfortable being there.
He has been introduced to the electric carts and that people ride them. The karts make a ton of noises and motions that he now knows will not harm him.
The little guy really seems to enjoy out with Julie.

One of the reasons this Midnight was a great choice for the tasks I want him to preform was when
he seemed unsure or unsettled he sat and gathered himself  This was great as I want him to do that when ever Julie stops to look at something or chat with friends.  He gets high praise every time he sits and he loves it.
So here are some pics of his adventures last night.

PS......Hearing Julie teach young children how to approach a dog and why is priceless.
Just the training is doing her a lot of good!
till next time

Midnight Dec 1st

Hello again

Midnight is progressing very well.
He comes when he is called......will walk beside you on and off lead.
Here is a tip for everyone

That clicking sound everyone makes when they see a puppy....yes that one
What we do is when we click....the pup gets rewarded with a slice of hot dog
Midnight can be as far away as 100  feet or so and responds instantly when he hears that click.
You do have to ask people to try and not click....you dont want to lie to your pup.

This is a very   good development for midnight because we will be using that food dive instead of prey drive to train Midnight in his tasks.

As of Dec 1 st he will when prompted."Go find mommy"...  .he will do so
so that is very good.
He is learning a out word simply to keep things neat and tidy and I am sure it will be just  couple more times with it and he will have that down.

This pup loves to learn....It is so cool!

Hello again

So I know it has been a long time since my last post. For that I apologise.

A lot has changed in the past year.
My wife has developed Pynes....which basicly means she has non elliptic seizures
Because of this I decided to retire from the k9 training....my time Now is taking care of her.

So around the first week of November or so she asked me if a service k9 would be a good idea....I did a ton of studying and found what we hope is a solution.

So we have a new pup in the pack and a new field of training to learn.
Midnight.....will learn to listen to Julie's heart....then place his weight between her breast using a technique called deep pressure therapy and then lick her face to help her come out of her black out seizures.

So come along for the ride and say Hello to
     Midnight!!

This is the beautiful Julie Ely my wife!!

So keep coming back as we learn a new training discipline and see how we are doing!
Till next time.
